No ManSometimes I wish that I could have my chance in life again – to go backwards and correct the things that I did wrong.

But now I think they weren’t so bad at all.

Perhaps those things were just meant to happen along the way, and they were my lessons in life.

I don’t regret the past at all. The present is the thing. And now the future; where I can do the things I want.

I thought that I could cry away the tears inside of me. The tears I never showed to anyone. But I could not; because real tears are meant to be shared.

You see I want to feel emotions and to give them back; to touch and kiss and hold the people that I love.

Now I live in the land of today; no longer in the past. Tomorrow and every day from now on is my future.

No man is an Island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were; any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”

John Donne, Meditation XVII
English clergyman & poet (1572 – 1631)
